Members of TRANSFORM attended the Digital Health AI Summit 2025 hosted by Health Informatics New Zealand (HiNZ) in Wellington on May 20-21. The event hosted leaders from across the health sector to discuss the opportunities for AI in healthcare here in Aotearoa. The event highlighted the importance of embracing AI responsibly and strategically to ensure equitable, high-quality access across the motu.
There was important kōrero on equity, bias and accountability and reminders that we must balance the risks to prevent harm. Further AI’s success in healthcare will depend on the workforce – AI isn’t just a technology challenge, it’s a leadership, culture, and people challenge.
